Blue Spectre spring from the burgeoning ‘surf noir’ scene in Brighton.

Their music owes a debt to the vintage surf sounds of the sixties, the angular new wave sounds of the early Eighties, and film soundtracks that straddle the eras; but their sound is unmistakably modern, and defiantly unique.

Following a handful of self recorded EPs and singles, Blue Spectre released their debut album ‘Silver Screen’ digitally and as a limited vinyl pressing on October 28th 2022.

Singles ‘Things Fall Apart’, a William Onyeabor inspired upbeat surf pop song with a sound that belies its name, and ‘Intolerance’ a tumultuous punk tinged surf track, heralded the album.

Preview track ‘Haaf Soul’ was described by Clunk Magazine as ‘’simply fantastic’ and  as ‘your soundtrack to a midnight drive along the coast, on an uncomfortably hot and humid summer night. Highly recommended.’

The album has been described by Still Listening as a ‘thrilling ride from start to finish’.
